Our Burden and prayer for the people of Brazil
is that they might be saved. It is in response to the Great Commission
(Mark 16:15), the call of God on our lives (1 Cor 9:16), and the
love of Christ (2 Cor 5:14) that we are “ready to preach
the gospel” in Brazil. We believe that Jesus Christ desires
to save the lost in Brazil so much that He died for their sins
(Rom 5:6-8). During our survey trip we felt the burden of the
love of Christ for them in our hearts. As we saw the people of
Brazil, the emptiness and void (that only God can fill) within
each soul could easily be seen. It is very difficult to see this
when you know that void has already been filled in you. You wonder,
“Why should I be saved and not them? That’s why Paul
said, “I am a debtor.”
Brazilians needs to hear about how Christ died
for their sins and that they are lost. They need to hear how “all
their righteousnesses are as filthy rags” in the sight of
God (Isa 64:6). The people of Brazil need to hear about Him Who
loved them (Rom 10:14), and we need to preach Him (1 Cor 9:16).
The plan of salvation is so simple yet so urgent for the people
of Brazil to hear. How can they be saved unless Jesus Christ is
preached?
“There is no difference” (Rom 3:22-23)
between lost sinners in America or the ones in Brazil. What if
nobody told Matthew Mooberry he was on his way to hell? Or that
the Lord Jesus Christ is the only Way? Someone needed to show
me that my righteousnesses were as filthy rags in God’s
eyes and how salvation is a “free gift.” The first
time I heard the gospel preached (at the age of 21) I got saved.
The people of Brazil must hear the gospel of Jesus Christ! If
we don’t go many will never know Him who can take away their
sin. “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have
not believed? and how shall they believe in Him of whom they have
not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? (Rom 10:14)
